As I sit here and write this I’m so thankful for what God has blessed me with and that I’m able to do what I do every day. I started my career in real estate in 1998 and have have seen a lot in the real business.  I started my career in leasing apartments with Equity Residential, moved over to working with We Buy Ugly Houses, started my own brokerage and ran that for ten years and then moved over to Kentwood City Properties in 2016.  When I decided I wanted to not just lease real estate but also sell it I made the decision I wanted to specialize in the urban housing and loft market so my husband and I started to search the internet and connected with a web developer who was developing a website for Denver Lofts and AllDenverLofts.com was born.  AllDenverlofts became a tool to help Buyers search for all the loft properties in Denver.  It gives details like it’s loftiness factor, cubic SQFT, age of the building and many other details.  If you haven’t visited it make sure you do!

I’ve sold in almost every loft building in Downtown and after many years working across the table from Dee Chirafisi, Barbara Henderson, Lee Ann Neilsen and many other brokers with Kentwood City I was asked to join the brokerage.  It wasn’t something I decided on quickly though.  It took me over a year to make the move but I finally did it and so glad I did.  One of the big reasons for the move over to Kentwood City was because of their knowledge, expertise and passion for the Downtown Denver real estate market, the Denver loft market and the love for historic real estate, redevelopment and new development.

After lots of research on the historic Denver market, I learned who the visionary and developer is for a lot of these amazing loft, hotel and retail buildings and this amazing person is Ms. Dana Crawford. If you’re familiar with Denver you know Larimer Square, Denver Union station and the Oxford Hotel. Dana pioneered the redevelopment of Denver’s historic Larimer Square in the mid 1960s, creating a shopping area from the neglected and abandoned buildings of Denver’s original main street. Today, Larimer Square serves as a prototype for the revitalization of forgotten main streets and architectural landmarks throughout the country, Dana’s recent project in LoDo was the redevelopment of Union Station and she was awarded to name the hotel after her, The Crawford Hotel.

After lots of years learning about Dana’s projects I’ve kept a close eye on what’s she’s has been up to as she is always working on something.  One of the projects I’ve kept a close eye on is the Broomfield Civic Center project as my family and I used to live in Broomfield and are currently in the process of building a home in Anthem and moving back to Broomfield in 2019.  

As my excitement escalates to move back to Broomfield, I wonder about all the things that have changed since we left in 2013.  I haven’t completely lost track but after living in Brighton the last six years and getting involved with their redevelopment projects, my growing my family and focusing on our own real state business, I have lost track a little bit of what’s going on in Broomfield.  Well, I haven’t totally lost track that much though as I heard about two years ago that Dana Crawford was working on a project in Broomfield so I immediately needed to find out what was going on.  I did some online research and found many different forums and information about a new project proposed for the Downtown area of Broomfield and immediately started reading about it.  I was so excited to learn that Broomfield was actually going to have a downtown area and that Dana was going to be helping develop it.  

On October 3rd my husband and I attended the RPAC Gala at the Museum Of Contemporary Art in Lodo and before the night was cut short by a power outage in LoDo I had the opportunity to sit down with Ms. Dana Crawford and ask her about the Broomfield Civic Center project and what is going on with it. She stated that it’s moving forward, the city has been so great to work with and they have conducted many forums to get feedback on what the residents of Broomfield want there. She also mentioned it’s going to have a lake which she was excited about. I was thrilled to hear this and even more thrilled to be able to sit with Ms. Dana Crawford and have a one in one conversation with her.  

I also learned that Dana is working on some projects in Pueblo and possibly considering Trinadad.
